"If a thing is right, it can be done,

and if it is wrong, it can be done without;

and a good person will find a way."

Black Beauty (Sewell, 1877)

It’s one of the most challenging questions for anyone involved with horses at the moment: How can we make sure that what we do with our horses today preserves equestrianism for future generations?

As students studying for a degree in Equine, Business and Sports at the University of Applied Sciences Van Hall Larenstein, sustainable equestrianism is at the core of what we do. After all, it’s all about our future.

Questions, questions, questions

Yet there’s so much we don’t yet know…

For example, “What are the key aspects that determine sustainability in equestrian sports?”

How about, “How do we make sure that equine welfare and sustainability remain at the core of everything we do?”

And then there’s: “How can technology assist us in developing a future-proof equestrian sector?”

Research integrity

Please note that all donations received will go towards student projects approved by University of Applied Sciences Van Hall Larenstein. All projects will adhere to the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity and will not involve animal experiments.

As an educational institute, University of Applied Sciences Van Hall Larenstein is a registered Public Benefit Organisation in the Netherlands.

Importance of Student research

Luckily, student research is an important part of our degree and we want our research to contribute towards answering at least some of these most pressing questions.

But to make it happen, we’d like to ask for your support. Any donation, no matter how large or small, will help us towards our goal: contributing towards a sustainable future for equestrian sports through student research.
